Washim District

History:

District Washim was incorporated on July 1, 1998. In 1905, during the British Raj Empire, the Washim district was divided into two separate districts, the Akola district and the Yavatmal district. After that, Washim was part of the Akola district and relied on the Akola district for its rule. It became a district again in 1998 when the people of the Akola district wanted to leave Washim for its development. During the British administration, Washim was given district status because of its strategic location. The temple of Hemadpanti and numerous ponds make the area famous.

Especially famous for the Balaj Temple. There is also a railroad junction. The railroad connects Akora, Purna, Nanded and Khandwa. Karanja is another city.

This district is divided into three subdivisions: Washim, Mangle Pill and Karanja.
