Gondia District

History:

The Gondia district was spun off by the division of the Bandara district. The Gondia district is located on the northeastern side of Maharashtra, adjacent to Madhya Pradesh and Chhattisgarh. In the 7th century, the present district was part of the territory of King Rajput of Chhattisgarh. The kingdom was known as Mahakosara. Gondia or Gondia is part of Bandara and retains the memories of the Hindu kings who ruled from Nagadan. In the 12th century, the rule of the Rajput was seen, which was replaced by the Gondi chief who later claimed independence from the Rattanpur dynasty.

Famous for ?

Gondia is a rice-growing area and is also known as the "rice-growing town" because there are about 250 rice mills nearby. It is also an important trading post.
