Palghar District
History:
District Palghar has a golden historical heritage in Vasai, Palghar and Jauhertarcus. Vasai taluka was dominated by Portugij. When the Goback movement for liberation from the British Empire began in India in 1942, five great Palugal martyrs sacrificed their lives for the country to support the movement. Until August 1, 2014, Talukas, which now forms the Palghar district, formed part of the Thane district.
