History:
Tirupathur or Tirupattur is the regional capital of Tirupathur in the state of Tamil Nadu in India and is one of the oldest settlements in the province, with a history of more than 1,600 years. Tirupathur was ruled by several kings and was renamed Bramapuram 'Thiruporur' 'Thiruvanapuram' and it is also noted in the historical study that the kings of Vijayanagara who ruled during the 14th century renamed Thiruvanapuram as 'Tirupathur'.
