Kanchipuram district is one of 38 districts in the Indian state of Tamil Nadu. Kanchipuram is one of the oldest cities in southern India and traces its history back to the 2nd century BC as the first capital of Chola. From the 3rd to the 9th century, it was the capital of Pallava, and from the 10th to the 13th century, it functioned as the capital of the late Chola government. Kanchipuram also known as Conjeevaram, is a town in the Indian state of Tamil Nadu in the Tondaimandalam region.
