Jashkote Village, Sult/Syaldey

Most of the working population is engaged in agriculture: 84 out of 85 working adults describe themselves as main cultivators. Jashkote has a literacy rate of around 68.1%, according to census records. While not everyone is fully literate, the numbers reflect a strong desire for education, especially for future generations who carry both the traditions of their hills and the hope of something more. Children likely attend nearby primary and middle schools, with some travelling outside for higher education. The value placed on learning feels like a bridge between the village’s past and its future.
