Kathud is a tiny village situated in the Kotdwara Tehsil of Pauri Garhwal district of Uttarakhand. The village is a part of Dugadda Development Block and it belongs to the lower Garhwal Himalayan region. Census 2011 records showed Kathud's population to be approximately 96 people, in 22 households.

Kathud is located within the forests, agricultural terraces and seasonal streams, and essentially represents the traditional lifestyle of the rural communities of Garhwal. The use of agriculture, livestock and community-based living remains the mainstay of village life.
