The village is part of Purwi Jhandi Chaur Gram Panchayat and located in the foothills of the Garhwal Himalayas. As per Census 2011 details, the village has a population of 2,753 and 542 households, making it one of the larger villages of the Kotdwara area. The geographical area of the village is about 164.89 ha.
