Triund is an easy trek to Himachal Pradesh that gives you a way to escape the amazing Himalayas. Located a few kilometers from Dharamshala at an altitude of 2828 meters, it is an ideal hiking trail with amazing routes that give a beautiful view of the entire Kangra district. The trip to Triund is short and easy. It can be done from McLeodganj or Dharamkot, which is about 2 km from McLeodganj. The first part of the trip is a slow walk and a 2 km drive from Snowline Cafe which includes a steep climb all the way to Triund. The evening sky from Triund is a sight in itself and a good excuse for camping here at night. The trek starts from Galu Temple in Dharamkot and one needs to walk about 7-8 kilometers to reach Triund. It is definitely worth it for the refreshing trek between the Rhododendron and Oak forests. Triund is also a base camp and a familiar destination for the journey to Inderhara in the Dhauladar range. And it's a great way to meet people ? foreigners and locals alike ? and get acquainted with McLeodganj's life free from the snares of tourism. And if you need one last reason to visit McLeodganj, there is no other place in the world known as Tibetan nature, free from outside influences.
